Model slams budget airline for ‘refusing free water service’

A Jetstar passenger hit out at the budget airline, claiming she was refused free water on a flight from Bali to Perth.

Dasha Daley, who is a Perth-based adult content creator, took aim at the Austrian operator in a TikTok video over the weekend.

“The joys of flying with Jetstar; when you buy a bottle of water at the departure gate and they take it away when you board because it’s not allowed but then they refuse to serve you free water when you suffer from Bali’s stomach. It should be illegal,” she wrote.

Other passengers informed Ms Daley that Jetstar provides free glasses of water, but she claims she asked the cabin crew and was told no.

Speaking of Yahoo Newsshe said she went through a security checkpoint and bought a bottle of water at the departure gate, but it was then confiscated at a second security checkpoint.

While on the flight, she claimed she was not given water until the meal was served.

“I had a free meal because I paid for 30 kg [around 66lbs] luggage and that came with a drink, so I was lucky I had some water then,” she told the publication.

“But the meal service takes a while and I had to wait a bit.â€

Denpasar International Airport requires liquids to be discarded before boarding a flight to Australia on any airline, including unopened water bottles purchased at the airport.

Complaints about this rule have appeared on travel forums for more than a decade.

“All the airlines in Bali cut you off. I have flown five different ones in the last few years and had to empty the bottles, one traveler wrote in response to Ms Daley’s video.

“Totally ridiculous. All this unsanctioned nonsense is out of control,” said another.

“It’s sad when you have to put water on the plane,” added a third commenter.

Jetstar’s service includes complimentary cups of water for customers on board.

The airline did not provide details on this specific case when contacted by news.com.au.
