The magic was lost.
A group of Massachusetts-based Disney theme park influencers were mercilessly teased about their weight by a Boston sports radio show, where calling them “fatos” was one of the weaker insults.
The giggly hosts even joked about going dumpster diving for food one day at the park and wildly suggested the group could “sit in the water” like seals to feed on fish.
Hosts Fred Toucher and Rob “Hardy” Poole of 98.5 The Sports Hub have come under fire for a snide comment made about the five ladies who lead the “Plus Sized Park Hoppers” during their show.
One of the quintuplets, Stephanie Lanciani, called the Toucher and Hardy show – they previously came under fire for “harsh” comments about NBA legend Bill Walton following his recent death – apologizing for their “vile and despicable”.
Many others criticized the duo for their unwarranted attacks after a TikTokker posted snippets of the live mid-segment.
The venomous words were in response to a video hoppers made about getting the so-called “Disney rash” from walking all day in the hot Florida sun.
“It’s something caused by heat and exercise. It’s common for a lot of different people of all different sizes,” Lanciani, from Massachusetts, told the Daily Mail.
She added that the attack from a local show made things sting even more.
The Post has reached out to 98.5 The Sports Hub for comment.
Earlier, comedians Tim Dillon and Tom Segura also took demoralizing digs at them.
“People forget that we’re just normal people trying to bring more good into the world,” Lanciani said.
“All we’re trying to do is help other people know they belong in the public and enjoy their lives. And to hear people like Tom Segura, who said we have to eat on a barn floor until we’re an acceptable size, it hurts.”
According to Lanciani, public figures are only the tip of the iceberg.
“Honestly, I’m a little naive. I didn’t expect all the hate because that’s who we are and who we’ve always been,” she said.
But in fabulous fashion, the site’s supporters — many who felt encouraged to travel to Disney regardless of their size — rallied through the fleas’ time of need, fending off online trolls.
“The Disney community really came together for us during this time and showed us so much support.”
The last example was no different.
As well as calling out Toucher and Hardy, fans of the hoppers have knocked down the radio station’s door to demand a public apology, tagging them across social media.
“How awful!!!” one person wrote.
“Who the hell do you think you are that makes it okay to talk about people like that! You are disgusting“, added another.
